If this is your first outpatient surgery, it is natural to feel a mix of anticipation and nerves — especially when you have a season, a race, or a training goal waiting on the other side. Knowing what to expect can make surgery day smoother for you and your support person.
Before you leave home. Follow your surgeon’s fasting and medication instructions carefully. Wear comfortable, loose clothing and leave jewelry at home. Make sure your designated driver knows where to meet you after discharge, and confirm your first physical therapy appointment is scheduled.
Arrival and check-in. Plan to arrive at the time listed in your confirmation — usually 90 minutes before your scheduled procedure. Bring your photo ID, insurance card, and a list of current medications.
We are honored to be part of your recovery team. If you have questions before surgery day, call us at (919) 555-0142.
